Stewardship consists of a strategy of responsible management which introduces ethical principles in evaluating human resources, favouring convergence of interests and different contributions in decisional processes.

The term Stewardship is applied in reference to the responsible management of:

• common property

• products

• cultural heritage

• the wellbeing of a workforce community

• the effectiveness of organisational processes.

Stewardship is applicable both in terms of macro or micro organisational contexts, since it can be conceived as either a process strategy or a leadership skill.
